According to the ministry, the long-range Tu-22M3 bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces conducted a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea. The bombers were escorted by crews of Su-30SM and Su-27 aircraft from the Russian Aerospace Forces. The total duration of the flight was approximately five hours.
On certain sections of the route, the long-range bombers were escorted by fighters from foreign countries. The Long-Range Aviation crews regularly conduct flights over international waters in the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black Sea, and Baltic Sea, as well as over the Pacific Ocean.
